How Does Lemon Help With Acne

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

The lemon seems like an inoccuous ingredient.  After all, it’s not some amazingly powerful and outstanding acne ingredient that you have to pay a lot of money for.  It hasn’t been through hundreds of different clinical studies since some time in the early 1900’s, it hasn’t been used in the same way and with the same fame that a lot of other ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide has.

But this being said, maybe it should have been.  Lemon is the easiest way to eliminate your acne using an at home treatment that won’t cost you an extra penny.  Lemon is one of the world’s most powerful antibacterials.  It kills off harmful bacteria and otherwise helps your body to function in a better way in general.

But when lemon does this, it doesn’t just eliminate your acne.  It does it without side effects for one thing.  But when it kills off the bacteria and free radicals with its powerful antibacterial and antioxidant properties, lemon actually brightens your skin and strengthens it.  So how does lemon help with acne?  There’s no simple answer to that.

Lemon fights acne in various different ways and improves the skin in various different ways.  It’s an extremely powerful ingredient and yet so common we sometimes forget about it.  It doesn’t matter so much to ask how does lemon fight acne, but just to accept the fact that it does and benefit from it essentially speaking because you can.  Lemon is an incredible and powerful acne fighter that you would be hard pressed to beat.

Acne Fighting Benzoyl Peroxide

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

The best know acne fighting ingredient is benzoyl peroxide.  Benzoyl Peroxide is a organic compound that is developed by joining benzoyl chloride with barium peroxide.  Benzoyl peroxide was created in the 1920’s and comes in various forms and strengths. Most common forms of Benzoyl peroxide acne treatments are gels or in a cream based form. Some popular products that use Benzoyl Peroxide are Proactiv, and Clearasil.   Everybody has different skin and thus people must determine what product will suit their skin the best.

The concentrations of this ingredient can vary from 2.5% all the way on up to 10%. This ingredient users have had some common know side effects  such has dryness, redness, burning sensation, itching, redness, skin irritation. If you experience any of these side effects lsited it is best to cease to use the product and consult your physician.  People over the years have had various views on if Benzoyl Peroxide is safe to treat acne because of how powerful it is.   Benzoyl Peroxide is a very powerful chemical and should be used moderately at first. Higher concentrations of Benzoyl Peroxide are used for teeth whitening and also used in hair bleaching products.

Rooibos Tea

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Rooibos tea you can now find in Bolthouse farms drinks.  But I wouldn’t actually suggest those, because they don’t taste like Rooibos tea.  They have a strong taste of certain types of fruits like pomegranate, so you’re not exactly getting what you bargained for.  I thought it would be a slight taste meant to compliment.  Instead I got that.  Anyway, Rooibos tea in its pure form is highly versatile.  It can be used hot or cold, and you can choose to mix in things like milk, honey, and sugar or you can leave them out.  Personally, I choose to leave them out.  This being said, Rooibos tea is extremely tasty, and it can be drunk with any meal.  As a tea native to South Africa, it is high in antioxidants, which means that in terms of acne, it kills off free radicals and bacteria that may be contributing to the greater problem.  They are currently making new developments such as drinks, yogurts, and desserts including Rooibos because it’s popularity is growing.  But actually, if you just want the tea bags, you still have to order them over the internet.  Either way, it’s worth it both for taste and for all the antioxidants among other things.

Super Female

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

There’s a genetic disorder known basically speaking as the super female.  There’s the super male syndrome, and it all involves having odd chromosomes, whether an extra chromosome, no x, no y, something of that nature.  Basically speaking though, if you get the super female chromosome abnormality, you are obviously going to be completely infertile.  But the weird thing is that you actually have internal male testes and other sexual organs.  Not external, just internal, and sometimes they remove them.  But it causes multiple mental problems, which is definitely not a good thing.  But the thing about super female things is that you actually are always incredibly beautiful.  Maybe this is where JK Rowling got some of her ideas for certain types of characters.  They apparently tend to have clear and glowing skin, great hair, great looks in general, and all of that good stuff.  Now frankly speaking, that’s not really something I would be opposed to.  The mental side effects, yes, that’s bad.  But as far as the looks, I don’t particularly care about the whole fertility things.  Just for skin alone, my skin is not the greatest in certain times.  But then, you have to consider all the facts I guess, not just relying on one piece of the puzzle all together.

You Need A Good Concealer

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Unfortunately I don’t get to shop all the time. I am responsible with my money, and while I go all out when I do shop, I limit myself, because there is not limitless money always coming in.  So you have to be responsible to a larger degree.  It’s not like one of those things when you see husband or wife going out and randomly buying something big like a car or otherwise.  But this being said, my major and regular expenditures are generally speaking shoes, bags, and makeup.  Yes, I do eventually buy a car, but that’s years coming.  I like nice things.  While if some companies came out with makeup lines I would definitely jump on the ultimate bandwagon, I am picky about my makeup.  So therefore, when buying a concealer or otherwise, I only go to Sephora.  They have selection, they have tools you won’t find anywhere else, they have great brands for makeup.  I don’t buy wrinkle creams or anything there, just makeup.  But frankly speaking, while I would like to just not have acne, that isn’t going to actually happen any time soon.  So realistically speaking, this is just one of those things we’re all going to have to face eventually, you need a good concealer.

Bizarre Acne

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Now acne comes in many forms, and frankly most forms can be treated with basic acne treatments such as tea tree oil for example.  This being said, there are actually acne problems that cannot be addressed with regular treatments.  There is one in particular that I’m thinking of that is actually a warped version of acne vulgaris.  It’s not like acne conglobata for example that has to be treated with Accutane.  Actually, it won’t go away even with the best treatment.  You literally have to go in for a shot, I assume of antibiotics, to treat it.  If you don’t do this, you will spend months with this one big zit that you don’t know what to do about.  That’s how many actually finally figure out what it is.  They spend months actually suffering from this one big zit, and they can’t pop it, it won’t go away, it only gets worse actually.  This being said, I’ve had one friend total actually suffer from this problem.  One.  So it’s not all that common, it only happens to a select few people.  But if it does happen, you do have to treat it in the one effective way with your dermatologist.

Things To Know About Acne

Monday, September 21st, 2009

There are a few basic things to know about acne.  There are plenty of myths out there.  And frankly, some of them sound pretty convincing.  I mean they don’t just come out of nowhere.  Somebody thought them up, other people believed them, and quite frankly, it spread from there.  Some of them are more hopeful.  And that’s why a lot of them have spread as far as they realistically have.  Somebody wants to or does believe them.  But here’s a few big ones.

  1. You need a prescription to treat acne-the fact alone that you can get many of the same treatments both through prescriptions and over the counter speaks for itself.  The fact that there are clinical studies on some that are not prescriptions also speaks for itself.
  2. You can cure acne-this is one of those things that just doesn’t work out the way you think it will or rather hope it will.
  3. You have to suffer side effects-No, you definitely don’t.  There are proven and popular ingredients known to cause various side effects.  However, they are not the only ones out there.  There are ingredients that are just as powerful and effective if not more so that come without any of these side effects.

Acne Treatments Could Boost Self Esteem

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Acne is always a serious thing when you have it.  It seems like it’s plaguing you, and I’ve had one friend, well more than one complain and freak out when something popped up right before a big date.  Now in one case, it was one of those tiny little red dots right above the lip, and he was freaking out because he didn’t want it there, but at the same point if he dealt with it then by popping it, then it would be all red.  So even though I know very well that you shouldn’t pop any kind of zit or anything like that, I still told him to do it.  I told him to pop the stupid zit and then cover it up with concealer.  Yes, boys can wear makeup too, and it doesn’t do any harm to your manhood.  They are even making whole cosmetic lines for men now, which are often used by all types of men actually more recently.  This being said, apparently, acne is a bigger deal than some of us think.  I mean we all think it’s temporary, and it seems like a bigger deal now than it will in even a week.  But according to the British Journal of Dermatology, you may actually experience serious emotional and psychological problems in connection with acne that you would with serious issues such as epilepsy and diabetes for example.  Anxiety and depression often occur at a higher rate, and apparently these issues are quite frequent, especially in those who have suffered acne for a longer period of time.  So in some ways, yes, an acne treatment could potentially boost your self esteem.

Do Celebrities Use Diet Pills?

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Sometimes, I wonder if celebrities ever really use diet pills. I really do, because quite frankly, there are certain celebrities that were known to get fat such as Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, and others, and then they were suddenly skinnier. In some cases, I’m relatively sure it was partly surgery. But frankly, liposuction can only remove so much and then it creates an imbalance and therefore other trouble spots in the body in general. Of course, diet pills don’t come with the same problems, even though they can come with other problems. I know of at least one athlete who has used diet pills and plenty have used illegal substances and other drugs and performance enhancers in general terms. But as far as diet pills go, well they could have technically lost a ton of weight fast, especially when combined with the professional workout plans and diet plans they often have access to. But they’re not exactly challenged by the same things, because they have access to so many other accommodations the general public does not. So I have to wonder if most ever really use diet pills or if they just use the extra things that they can access that the rest of us really can’t.

Menopause Flare Ups

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Menopause is a big flare up time in acne for many people, and it’s something to consider if you are suffering through it.  In general terms, if you are going through menopause as every woman eventually has to, you are likely to experience hot flashes, dryness, mood swings, sleep disruptions, irritability, and general discomfort.  Basically speaking, women have both estrogen and a small amount of testosterone flowing through their body at any given time, and when they go through menopause, there are higher levels of testosterone in comparison to estrogen.  This over time means that frankly your skin will start producing more sebum for one thing.  Producing more sebum or oils means you will naturally have greater outbreaks and greater problems in general.  This being the case, you need to take greater lengths than you may be used to.  Most women don’t have acne at this age, but some do.  So either way, start using a better cleanser, an acne specific cleanser.  Also just step up the regularity of your skincare regimen.  This will obviously help you to achieve better results in general, and you really can’t go wrong with taking it an extra step further in fighting these hormonally based problems in general.
